MAPC Provincial Tours

In 2009 - 2010, the MAPC Board of Directors recently visited parents and school leaders in the communities of Carman, Pilot Mound, Morden, and Morris.

Parents had the opportunity to meet with the Directors and learn more about MAPC and ways to increase volunteerism within their school communities. School Leaders had the opportunity to meet the Directors and learn more about MAPC and the Advocacy Project, as well as ways to strengthen the partnership between school divisions and MAPC.

MAPC Workshops and Presentations

January 23, 2010 - Representatives from the MAPC Board of Directors met with over 50 parent group representatives to learn more about running effective meetings and the successes and challenges experienced by parent groups in school communities from Winnipeg and the surrounding areas. Some great tips were shared between the attendees and everyone left with a renewed sense of understanding and purpose of the role of parents in the education system, based on some terrific networking experiences. We look forward to this becoming an annual event!

MAPC Parental Survey

Work is underway for the development of a provincial Parental Involvement Survery to help MAPC and our educational partners better understand where and why parents become involved in their child's school, and what's happening once they're there!
